An Alabama state legislative committee heard testimony on the need for medical marijuana from patients themselves. Loretta Nall helped organize the effort and reports on two news accounts of the hearings here and here. (The LPA has endorsed the Compassionate Care Act).

Loretta Nall's Case has been DISMISSED!

On March 20, a federal court held a hearing on an Alabama ballot access case. The court heard argument that the high petition signature requirement (~40,000) together with the early deadline are too great a burden for third parties and independents. Richard Winger's web site ballot-access.org has a cautiously upbeat writeup on the hearing.

Loretta Nall had a letter-to-the-editor published in the Mobile Press-Register. Also see her 2006 Year in Review summarizing her run for Governor last year.

Dick Clark has moved to Boston MA, leaving his position as our state chair. His able leadership will be sorely missed. Read his parting letter of encouragement to the LPA.
